L’œil n’est pas un système optique parfait, car son axe visuel ne passe pas par le centre de la cornée, de la pupille ou du crystallin1. L’œil pseudophaque est naturellement décentré; le déplacement moyen de la pupille mesure 0,37 ± 0,24 mm2.
Les études cliniques montrent que le décentrement de la LIO est omniprésent dans les opérations de la cataracte, avec un décentrement moyen de 0,24 à 0,53 mm3-5.
Le décentrement d’une LIO avec aberration sphérique positive ou négative peut entraîner un flou, de l’astigmatisme et une coma.

Optiques avancées AO
La LIO SofPortMD présente une optique sans aberration qui est moins sensible aux effets du désalignement ou du décentrement que les lentilles non AO. L’optique est neutre pour les aberrations sphériques positives ou négatives et n’induit aucune aberration significative de haut degré1.

Options de lentilles
La LIO SofPortMD est offerte en deux variantes : la variante AO présente une optique asphérique sans aberration et biconvexe, et la variante SE présente une optique sphérique biconvexe. Les deux options offrent un bord postérieur carré sur 360 degrés et un angle de 5° permettant de limiter l’OCP1. La LIO SofPort est indiquée pour le positionnement de la lentille dans le sulcus ou le sac capsulaire.

Options d’insertion
La LIO SofPortMD est injectée à l’aide d’un dispositif d’insertion jetable à chargement facile. La LIO est contenue dans une cartouche préchargée qui s’enclenche sur le dispositif d’insertion. Le système planaire d’insertion de la LIO à une seule main peut être utilisé pour une taille d’incision aussi petite que 2,4 mm. Le système d’insertion EZ-24 peut être utilisé pour des tailles d’incision de 2,4 à 2,6 mm, et le système EZ-28V pour des tailles d’incision de 2,8 à 3,0 mm.
Haptiques
La LIO SofPortMD trois pièces comporte des haptiques en C modifié faits de PMMA bleu et un angle de 5°. Le système a une longueur totale de 13 mm.
